Have you Seen These?

Yes, I know they are black beans, but did you see the container?

Finally someone has come up with an alternative to canned beans!

I found these at my local Whole Foods in Chicago. Whole Foods saves the day again!

Looks like they are selling a couple of varieties. I saw chickpeas, black beans, and kidney beans.

In case you are wondering why I have a bone to pick with canned beans, it’s because of the BPA. This chemical is often used in the lining of cans and in plastics. BPA is a known endocrine disruptor, meaning that it messes with our hormones, mainly estrogen.  It’s a good idea to stay away from this chemical whenever possible. I recently did some research on BPA free cans and from what I found, Trader Joe’s canned beans are BPA free, but their cans of soups/chilis are not. Did you find the same information?
